Lines compared

Which S-Bahn and regional lines are the most punctual, and which the least? The same line number exists in many cities (the S1 runs in Hamburg, Berlin, Munich and elsewhere): we keep them apart, so that every line counts on its own.

Period: November 2025 to September 2026 without July 2026. A line is our own grouping of the public timetable data, not an official line list: stops with the same line code that are connected through consecutive stations form one line. The name shows the code and the place where the line has most of its stops (two places for long lines). If a line is run differently for a longer time because of works, it can fall apart into parts. Only lines with at least 100,000 stops in at least 6 months count. On time = under 6 minutes late, measured over the stops that took place; cancelled = share of the planned stops that did not take place. The train class follows the train type in the data: everything with the type S is listed as S-Bahn, everything else as regional, even if the line has an S in its name (for example at operators with their own train type). Public timetable data, not Deutsche Bahn's own measurement.
